Ready For The Next Frontier

Kuchiva Naturals has been selected into the second cohort of the prestigious NEXT She-Exporter program powered by ZimTrade in partnership with Nedbank Zimbabwe. The enterprise development program, set to run for ten months starting in June 2023 and is expected to end in March 2024. It equips women-led businesses in different sector including manufacturing, services, and agriculture with requisite skills in business management, financial literacy, and export readiness, among others. The project is delivered in a flexible modular manner utilizing face to face classes facilitated by world class experts, mentorship by seasoned captains of industry and limitless access to information. The NEXT She- Exporter program aims to emancipate the socioeconomic status of Zimbabwean women entrepreneurs through supporting them to build viable, sustainable, and profitable world class businesses that are proudly Zimbabwean and command respect on the international market.

In a predominantly informal economy such as Zimbabwe, programs such as the NEXT She-Exporter Program are pivotal in strengthening women’s participation in the formal sector by ensuring that their contribution to the fiscus is counted. Apart from strengthening individual businesses, the platform also encourages business to business interactions among the participants thereby strengthening the local business networks. The first round of the Next She Exporter program was started in 2022 and reached over 100 women entrepreneurs across Zimbabwe in different sectors including clothing and textiles, agribusiness, processed foods, manufacturing (detergents, hair care products), horticulture and arts and crafts. ZimTrade is working to have more export ready businesses by the end of the second cohort of the NEXT She-Exporter Program.
