16 Days Campaign 2021

Stories from Zimbabwean Women

16 Days of Activism run from 25 November (International Day of the Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10 December (World Human Rights Day).  During these 16 days, people around the world raise awareness on the various forms of violence against women and call for the elimination of such. This year marks 30 years of commemorating 16 Days of Activism against GBV. To commemorate this anniversary, campaigns all over the world will focus on femicide or gender-related killing of women and in addition to this focus remains on the elimination of GBV in the world of work. Covid-19 has increased women’s’ vulnerability to GBV and there has never been a more important time to raise awareness and advocate for elimination of all forms of violence against women.

As a woman led business, Kuchiva is committed to contributing to the elimination of violence against women. We believe that in our own way we can bring attention to issues of GBV in the workplace as well as coping mechanisms to support women in the world of work. We believe that it is the responsibility of every Zimbabwean woman to advocate for the ratification of this treaty and prevent GBV in their workspaces, together we can stop GBV. In the spirit of sisterhood, Kuchiva Naturals is collecting stories from women from different walks of life in different sectors to investigate how GBV manifests itself in their sector of operation and how it is being tackled.
